EVERYONE will be encouraged to don track pants to work, school or at home on July 6 to raise money for children in hospital.
The day is run by TLC for Kids, which helps an average of 500,000 kids in hospital receive support.
TLC for kids works to reach those kids who, by sheer misfortune, do not meet the criteria of the existing services for wishes and surprises.
Some of the patients include accident and burns victims, and children with less common illnesses and diseases.
The group provide children with distraction boxes, filled with toys and activities, to make their stay in hospital more pleasant.
Chief executive and TLC founder Tim Conolan said Tracky Dack Day was a fun initiative bringing awareness to kids in hospital that are in need of support and a great excuse to wear “trackies” all day.
In 2011, more than $40,000 was raised for TLC for Kids in the inaugural Tracky Dack Day.
Designers such as J’Aton, Aurelio Costarella, Carla Zampatti, Alpha60, Ellery, Lui Hon, Dhini, Jenny Bannister, Anthony Capon, Neo Dia, Clarence Chai, Rachel Gilbert, Trimapee and Extinct make their own pants and sporting heroes auction their trackies.
