Death sentence lifted

Comments:

SECONDARY breast cancer is no longer a guaranteed death sentence. With medical advances and improved knowledge of the disease many women can continue to live full lives for decades.

A free forum held in Fremantle last week featured talks by breast cancer survivors and women living with secondary breast cancer, including consumer advocate Maria Waters.

“With support from family and friends and inspiration from other women with advanced breast cancer, I know I am not alone,” she said.

Other speakers included Breast Cancer Network Australia chief executive officer Lyn Swinburne and Olympian Raelene Boyle.
