DIABETES patients can now avoid regular hospital visits to receive dialysis treatment, after Home Dialysis Training began teaching people to perform dialysis in their own home.
Home Dialysis Training nurse manager Debbie Fortnum said the service provided training and a 24-hour phone support for patients.
“It’s a win-win really, because patients like that they can have their treatment from home, plus it takes pressure off our hospitals,” she said.
