A NEW combination of flavours has moved into Victoria Park’s multicultural cafe and restaurant strip, with Himalayan Nepalese Restaurant and Cafe.

The new Albany Highway restaurant opened last month and serves authentic Nepalese food to a growing customer base.

Owner Bhairab Dhakal, who immigrated to Australia from Nepal 13 years ago, said there were very few Nepalese restaurants in Perth.

“I’ve managed hotel restaurants over the years and finally thought I should promote my native food,” he said.

“At the moment we have a lot of customers who have been to Nepal.”

He said there were also many Nepalese people living in Perth, looking for home-style food.

He described the food as having elements of Indian and Chinese cuisine.
