MT LAWLEY has picked up its game with the inclusion of many new fashion boutiques, bars and cafes. One such place is Clarences Bar and Restaurant, which just celebrated its first birthday.
The vivacious and fashionable Jeremy Prus of North Perth owns the popular joint with Matt Thomas and Sal Pizzata from Highs and Lows, along with three other partners.
Jeremy worked as a chef in kitchens all over Australia and overseas for nine years before managing restaurants Duende tapas bar in Leederville and Balthazar in Perth.
“Living and working in North Perth means most of my shopping is done in Mt Lawley. Highs and Lows is my staple for clean, comfortable fashion,” he said.
“I’m also a big fan of Test Tube; I could spend all day checking out the cool gadgets in there.
“And anybody who knows me knows I love anything and everything to do with wine but you can’t beat an ice-cold beer.”
Jeremy said the Clarences concept was to bring a bar to the area with a community feel, remaining a fixture for years to come.
“It’s been great seeing our ideas come to fruition and to be able to put our passion into something we really believe in,” he said.
“Clarences appeals to a broad range of clientele through the food, drinks and service we offer. We really pride ourselves on delivering quality and exceeding expectations.
“Clarences should be a place people feel comfortable asking questions and taking a chance on something they may not have previously tried.
“We do our best to offer something for everyone.
“Perth is really beginning to move forward in a positive direction in the hospitality industry and for the rest of my career that's what I want to be part of.”
