PERTH fashion designer Shane Newton will take his latest collection to the runway this Friday in the name of charity at Styleaid.

The fashion event which raises money for the WA AIDS Council turns 15 this year and will feature 15 designers.

Newton, who took part in the event for the first time last year said Styleaid was special to him as it was where it all began for his label, Zsadar.

“I launched it last year at Styleaid Opulent, and I’m really excited to be invited to participate again for a second time,” he said.

Following on from his success at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia in Sydney earlier this year, his Spring/Summer 2013 Mysteries of the Organism collection features a 30-piece range revealing a softer side to the label.

Palettes include flesh and earth tones of buttermilk, smoke, nude, porcini and oyster while butter-soft bamboo, lightweight jersey, cotton and linen worn with hand-woven silks in ash and wheat are the fabrics chosen for the collection.

Styleaid will be held at the Burswood Entertainment Complex. Tickets on styleaid.com.au
