NAPOLEON Street has a new boutique offering the runway look and even more chic to Cottesloe’s most fashion-savvy strip.
The MyCatwalk store, which began as a home-grown website nine years ago, stocks women’s garments from sought-after Aussie labels including sass & bide and Therese Rawsthorne, as well as international brands such as Acne and ALC and plenty of on-trend bags, jewellery pieces and sunglasses.
Earlier this year, Perth billionaire Andrew Roberts (formerly of developer Multiplex) acquired the site – which will undergo a relaunch next year – with a desire to open accompanying stores across Australia.
Since the recent Cottesloe store opening, boutiques have launched in Sydney and Melbourne.
Western Suburbs Weekly chatted with creative director Marlene Mangioni – a woman who was born to shop – about the venture, which seems to be expanding by the minute.
“We have a very strong online following but we want to greatly broaden the audience and offering, and Andrew has put a lot of money, time and investment into enabling us to do that,” she said.
“The current MyCatwalk girl is a young, 18-to-25-year-old, with a bit of sprinkling in the slightly older demographic, but for us it’s very much about looking after that next tier as well.
“Women aged 24 to 45 are our focus, but then we also have fantastic customers who are 55-plus – they are modern and confident and open to being educated. Of course, we’ll continue to look after our big youth market too.
“We’ll also include a lot of international brands, which we didn’t have before, while continuing to support the Aussie ones.”
The boutiques strive to be modern, welcoming and casual, replicating a home rather than a gallery.
The relaunched website – boasting a new look and direction to match the stores – launches in February/March, with tweaks occurring in the meantime.
