IT’S a family affair for renowned hair stylist Antonio Sorgiovanni, who recently opened his new North Perth salon – Sorge’s House for Hair.
Antonio, known as Sorge to his friends, is an accomplished hairstylist with extensive experience in developing innovative techniques, which push the boundaries of hair styling and design.
Sorge and wife/business partner Anita opened their first salon in Beechboro before moving to the House of Ernest in the city as senior principal stylist and artistic director.
Anita also focused on their growing family, with daughter Izabella also a member of the salon.
After 11 successful years with Ernest Grady, Sorge decided to take on the globe touring Hong Kong and Taiwan, educating colleagues and peers in his techniques.
On top of his already crowded resume, he has published works in magazines such as Culture and In Style.
Sorge styles the hair of many radio and television personalities, along with high-profile celebrities including Tina Altieri, Janet Holmes a Court, Deputy Lord Mayor Janet Davidson, Lisa Scaffidi and Peter Holland to name a few.
“I decided the time was right to come back on to the scene and work in the field that I live, breathe and am passionate about,” Sorge said.
“The Fitzgerald Street salon is fresh and modern with clean lines, fitting in with the emerging North Perth strip.”
Moving into the premises meant two months of blood sweat and tears.
Sorge had to gut the building and start from scratch, bringing back a blend of sexy chic and soft Gothic with black and white classic nuances.
He said he had opened in North Perth due to the loyal CBD clients he already services – along with the ideal parking situation.
Sorge will also run a year-long lottery with all proceeds going to PMH, and a glam pack up for grabs.
