THE Housing Industry Association recently announced the launch of the Urban Development Program Online: State of Land and Housing Supply – a long-awaited facility for the residential construction industry.
Acting HIA Executive Director WA David Endersby said the launch of the online tool by Minister for Planning John Day would allow lots of land at various stages of approval to be viewed by the industry and public in close to real time.
“The HIA has long viewed the availability of land for sale as one element to the overall accessibility of housing throughout WA,” he said.
“The residential construction industry and the public will gain substantial benefit from the launch of the Urban Development Program Online by the Government.
“The transparency and visibility of available lots for sale is a real step forward in addressing the issue of land availability throughout the Perth metropolitan area.”
“The range of information available, as well as the ability to extract to other software programs, is a real credit to the Department of Planning,” Mr Endersby said.
“The need for a continuous supply of lots to the market is a major issue in dealing with the overall accessibility and affordability of land throughout the state.”
