MORE than 120,000 Western Australians sit on Gascoigne leather furniture every day.

It’s an impressive figure for the family owned and operated company, which has produced luxurious sofas for the past 33 years.

Each of its four Perth showrooms is a stunning showcase of period and contemporary furniture that has been meticulously handcrafted in the finest materials.

Gascoigne’s talented craftsmen also custom build sofas according to requirements, spoiling customers with a large choice of styles, sizes, leathers and colours.

Jennifer Gascoigne, who heads retails sales, is one of the family members who have helped make the business a success.

She said the company prided itself on offering something for everyone.

“Our leather furniture is soft, comfortable and luxurious, and we have a sofa to suit everybody and every budget,” she told Residential.

“The sofas are made using top-of-the-range materials, such as hardwood frames, double sprung seats and 100 per cent leather.

“Gascoigne believes that by incorporating quality and durability in each sofa, our customers will have a great product that withstands the rigours of family life.”

Jennifer’s father Kim started operations as a manufacturer, supplying furniture to retailers in Australia, the United Kingdom, Dubai, Singapore and France.

Ten years ago, the family made the decision to open retail stores and deal directly with the public.

“We wanted to showcase the large range of furniture that we had perfected over the years while offering it at manufacturer-direct prices,” Jennifer explained.

“Our prices are 30-50 per cent cheaper than other designer outlets.”

Jennifer said Gascoigne’s designers strived to deliver the latest furniture looks and constantly updated the company’s collections, introducing styles that weren’t available elsewhere.

Featuring scroll arms and intricate buttoning and pleating, the Chesterfield range showcases the skills of Gascoigne’s craftsmen.

For people whose decor demands something more modern, there is the contemporary collection which includes modular suites that wrap around living spaces and theatre room units.

Customers can also choose from recliners that not only rock, swivel and recline but look stylish.

Jennifer said although Gascoigne offered a re-covering service, many people chose to upgrade to the latest design instead.

She said leather furniture was easy to care for.

“We recommend that you use a cleaner and conditioner every six months to a year to give the sofa a good clean and put back moisture that is lost through heating and air-conditioning,” Jennifer said.

Gascoigne offers a free five-year structural guarantee on its furniture.

The company’s showrooms are located at Osborne Park, Joondalup, Cannington and Myaree.
