SUE Turner was a little nervous as DJ Pools workers hoisted her new swimming pool over her home’s roof with a crane.
Fresh in her memory were the previous day’s storms ripping off roofs in a nearby suburb. But the installation went smoothly.
She hadn’t heard of DJ Pools before but had seen a deal in the paper for the 5.42m x 2.56m, 1.2m-1.6m deep fibreglass “Aussie” pool.
“They seemed pretty good on the phone, so I thought I’d give them a try,” she said.
After she signed up and paid the $1200 deposit, DJ Pools did everything from getting council approval to installation, totalling $13,200.
Sue said the hand-over included instructions on pH testing and cleaning, and the owner’s honesty impressed her.
“I paid $450 for an automatic cleaner and he said ‘you don’t need that, I’ll give you a refund’, so that was really good,” she said.
He provided her with a simpler hand-held vacuum instead.
Sue said she and her daughter often stayed out late in summer swimming and that the pool was a perfect size for them.
“I think it looks good, really good, now that it’s all finished,” she said.
