A TEENAGER has been convicted over the death of 17-year-old Steven Rowe - under a new law brought in after Western Australia's spate of 'one-punch' deaths.
A Supreme Court jury which yesterday aquitted the man - who turned 18 today - of murder today also acquitted him of manslaughter over the October 2008 death.
However the jury returned a guilty verdict to the charge of unlawful assault causing death, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years jail.
The jury has been discharged and the case adjourned, but lawyers will return to address the judge on sentencing.
