A TRIP to the US for the Little League World Series in August is within reach of the West Coast Waves.
The team have qualified for the Little League Baseball State Championships to be held at Mirrabooka Softball Complex from April 1 to 5.
In the State Championships, seven metropolitan representative teams and four regional sides will vie for State little league glory in a knockout format.
If the West Coast Waves can finish as the highest ranked metropolitan team, they will be on their way to Queensland for the Nationals.
The winners of the Australian title then travel to Asia in July to represent Australia in the Asia-Pacific Championship.
If the boys can get this far and win the Asia-Pacific tournament, they will then compete in the World Series in Pennsylvania.
But the team must overcome the local challengers first, including their nemesis the Eastern Phantoms, who have represented WA at the last two national competitions.
