FREMANTLE United centre-back Billy Jones is one step closer to fulfilling his dreams of playing professional soccer after winning a scholarship with a prestigious soccer academy.
Billy (14) has won an associate scholarship with the National Training Centre (NTC).
The NTC program has been running since 2005 to help nationally identified athletes, or those with the potential for identification, to best prepare for the game at the highest level.
Players were chosen after open trials, held last September, and the squad began training in October.
Associate players train two or three times weekly with the NTC squad and are also free to train and play weekly for their local club.
