DALKEITH swimmer Tommaso D’Orsogna is Swimming WA’s 2010 Swimmer of the Year.
The 19-year-old received the award at a ceremony last weekend and beat tough competition, including Blair Evans and Rhys Mainstone, to scoop the title.
D’Orsogna was part of the bronze medal-winning relay team at the FINA World Championships that broke a Commonwealth Games record and has been named as part of the Commonwealth Games team that will compete in Delhi later this year.
Evans and Mainstone did not walk away empty- handed, with Evans receiving a swag of awards, including Age Swimmer of the Year, Swimmer’s Swimmer of the Year and three Swimming WA trophies.
Mainstone was named Open Water Swimmer of the Year.
