WEST Perth champion Don Marinko Snr will be immortalised 44 years after his death, when he is inducted into the WA Hall of Fame on Wednesday night.
The 194-game, Falcons ‘team of the century’ half-forward will be honoured as one of the greatest players of the ’20s and ’30s.
His stylish football set him apart from his peers in a 17-year career that produced 13 State guernseys and three West Perth premierships.
Marinko will be celebrated along with Swan Districts centre-half-back Duggan Anderson, late East Fremantle centre half-forward George Prince and former AFL and Swan Districts big man Garry Sidebottom.
Former WA Football chairman Peter Tannock and the late Alfred Moffat, who was WA Football president from 1920-1932, will be honoured as administrators at the gala dinner hosted by the Perth Convention Centre.
