GROWING up playing street soccer has spurred former Perth Glory midfielder Mark Lee to develop his own take on the world game.

Lee will bring the Urban 3 Street Football indoor competition for players aged from 10 to 14 to Lords Recreation Centre in Subiaco on Sunday, February 28.

Put together by Lee and his friend Dave Elliott – both originally from the UK – the contest involves teams of three youngsters lining up to play some fast-paced three-minute games.

Accompanied by plenty of energised music from the sidelines, the games have modified rules such as no corner kicks and the nearest player to the goals can serve as goalkeeper.

Lee said he hoped to continue boosting the profile of the competition, with the style of play providing its share of fun for youngsters and ways to boost skill levels.
