Hills drivers race to wins in Targa West Rally

LOCAL drivers topped the results of the Quit Targa West Rally last weekend.

Forrestfield driver Robert Darrington again finished second overall in the challenge modern class, repeating his team’s 2009 result.

Finishing third in the competition modern class was Jane Brook’s Peter Rullo and Simon Iseppi.

Other local drivers in the competition modern class, Lea Welch, Justin Smith, Neville and Loren Croke and John O’Down all finished in the top 40.

The Targa West Rally ran across August 26 to 29, through the shires of Kalamunda and Toodyay and the cities of Swan and Perth.

The overall winner of competition modern class went to Peter Major and Kim Screaigh from Bull Creek and Wembley.
