ROBBIE Fowler deserved to step up and take the penalty that kept Perth Glory’s unbeaten start to the season alive with a 2-2 draw away to Melbourne Heart.
Robbie had a great game and took the decisive spot kick in the 93rd minute well but the same can’t be said about the team’s start.
We didn’t perform at our best in the first half but we managed to regroup at half-time and it was definitely a game of two halves.
To be down 1-2 and then force the final draw showed tremendous character and reflected what I thought was a fair result.
The Heart dominated the first half and we did the same in the second.
A spray from the coach at half-time was deserved and the catalyst for the turnaround.
To concede a goal so early in the match away from home is always going to hurt so we regrouped and I am very happy with the boys.
A bit has been made of the heated exchange at the end of the game but that is just passion from both sides.
The Heart were desperate for their first win of the season and we wanted to continue our excellent start.
It was good to see a never-say-die attitude.
You can win a game with the first or last kick of the game if you have that belief.
Perth Glory certainly has this season.
