TALENTED young indigenous footballers from around the State will lace up their boots for the Harmony Fields Cup 2010 next week.

The annual event, presented by the Clontarf Foundation and the City of Gosnells, will take place at Harmony Fields Oval in Maddington on September 9.

Competing will be a local team from Yule Brook Football Academy in Maddington, which is fresh from a strong performance in the recent STS (Smarter Than Smoking) Cup.

The side triumphed over Gingin in the Perth District Final of the STS Cup, then went to Cervantes where it lost to an impressive John Willcock College side in a quarter-final match.

The Harmony Fields Cup is an all-day carnival featuring players representing Clontarf Foundation football academies around the State.

In addition to football matches, the community event also includes a 100m sprint and a long-bomb competition.

Harmony Fields Oval is at the corner of Gosnells Road West and Alcock Street and the carnival is from 9am to 4pm.
