A 106-year-old racing car will be among the highlights of this Sunday’s Festival of Speed motor racing event at Barbagallo Raceway.
While the headline acts will be Mark Webber and Daniel Ricciardo in their Formula 1 cars, there will also be interest in historic and vintage cars.
The vintage car event will open festival proceedings, with more than 70 cars from pre-1918, as well as racing and sports cars from between the wars.
Among the oldest cars on show will be Peter Briggs’ 1904 Napier, a race car with a 15-litre engine that was capable of reaching speeds of 168km/h.
Also on the program is Bathurst Revisited, while there will be displays by rally and sprint cars, a WA Police pursuit, superbikes and touring cars, karts and electric cars.
The event starts at 11am on Sunday; gates open from 9am.
