A LOCAL vet is appealing to the public to help find a bag stolen from the Lynwood Veterinary Clinic last month which was filled with the ashes of a golden retriever.

Clinic vet Evelyn Auger said the business was broken into early in the morning of December 17. A few items were taken from the reception area before a security guard arrived at the scene.

“The burglars must have been scared off by the alarm but before they left, they grabbed whatever they could from the bench near the entry point,” she said.

“Unfortunately this included a bag containing a simple brown felt bag which held the ashes of a beautiful and much loved 15-year-old golden retriever.

“We would like to appeal for the return of these ashes as they are of no value to the thieves, or if anyone has found it discarded somewhere we would really appreciate its return.”

Canning Vale Police acting Senior Sergeant Gailene Hamilton  said officers found forensic evidence at the clinic and were hopeful they would find the offenders.

If you have found the ashes, contact the clinic on 9451 1646.

What low life scum bags I would be devastated. I just hope those scum bags or anyone knowing of the burglary and scum that did it read this artical and realise what they have taken and give it back. :-(

They are scum bags for breaking into another persons property to start with but to steal the ashes of some grieving persons beloved pets ashes are as low as a so called "person" can get. Do the right thing and give the ashes back. Remember what goes around comes around.

I would have been absolutely devastated if this had happened to my Ben's ashes when he died. Losing your dog after 15 years is heartbreaking enough. To not have the ashes of your beloved pet so you can move thru the grieving process would be asbsolutely awful.
