A DOG well and truly had his day when he bit a thug who tried to mug his owner while they were taking a recent walk.
The 23-year-old man was walking his dog near Boyare Primary School in Mirrabooka about 6.30pm on March 11 when he was confronted by three men.
They asked him what he had in his pockets and then one of them threatened him with a knife.
The man then released his dog, which latched onto one of the robbers’ legs. The other two men fled.
The other men ran away while the victim removed the knife from the offender who was on the ground being bitten by his dog.
The victim called his dog off the man, who ran away.
Police believe the offenders ran towards Appleblossom Boulevard before disappearing.
They were dark skinned, 180-190cm tall and 18 to 23 years of age.
