A MINOR traffic accident is believed to have started a bushfire in Mt Claremont that burned through 3ha of Bold Park this morning.
Twenty eight career firefighters and Botanical Gardens Park Authority crews attended the blaze, which started about 4am.
A helicopter was also used.
The fire forced the closure of Stephenson Avenue between Rochdale Road and Challenge Stadium. It has since reopened.
The Fire and Emergency Services Authority said no property, endangered fauna or flora was lost.
