CREATING a replica of the Taj Mahal is a tough challenge. Building it out of pasta seems just about impossible.

But Willetton resident Prathamesh Pendharkar has done just that.

Having started the task in July, he finished it just in time for last month's Lord Ganesha Festival.

Mr Pendharkar built the spaghetti Taj Mahal using 10kg of pasta with his nephew Sarthak Barbudhe.

“I started doing decorations each for this event since 1994,” he said.

“For all these past years I created different artworks including temples, mountains, jungles and monuments.

“My concept is very simple, I try to make something different each year without repeating and using different materials each time. Even though it is difficult, it is not impossible and for creativity the sky is the limit.”

Mr Pendharkar said he was not sure what he would do with the creation now the festival had finished, but was willing to give it away.
