A REGULAR winner of radio competitions and giveaways in her youth, Craigie resident Cheryl Tyler-Nickisson thought her winning luck had run out.
That was until last week, when she found out she’d won movie tickets as well as being announced as one of Community Newspaper Group and promotional partner Bankwest’s five weekly Cowboy Cash winners.
“I haven’t won anything in nearly 20 years, so to win two prizes in two weeks is amazing, especially the $1000,” Mrs Tyler- Nickisson said.
“I always try to shop locally and I also read my local paper, so I knew some of my regular shops were part of the competition.”
Mrs Tyler-Nickisson did her grocery shopping at Woolworths Beldon, sent in her receipt and now has $1000 to spend.
“I have car insurance and water bills due, so the money is a big relief for me,” she said.
“My birthday is coming up though so I may have to save $100 to spend on myself.”
Another grateful winner was Mike Shaw, of Ascot, who with his wife Mary, has been travelling around Australia for the past 18 months.
Having been in Perth just six weeks, Mr and Mrs Shaw are already avid readers of their local newspaper and were well aware of the Cowboy Cash competition.
“Work has been very quiet lately so this was meant to be,” he said.
“Our son and daughter live in Queensland and we were thinking that we would be struggling to make it over for Christmas, but this makes it possible.”
Next week is the final chance to win your share in $50,000, so get shopping.
