THE Fishers with Disabilities Association enjoyed a rare treat last week when Top Gun Charters donated its boat Top Gun II for a day to allow 16 people with disabilities to enjoy a day of recreational fishing.
Organiser Cris Dolbel said it was a great feeling to be able to encourage independence among people with disabilities to be able to enjoy recreational fishing.
The Fishers with Disabilities Association is run by volunteers and conducts shore and boat fishing activities with wheelchair access.
“All disability types are catered for at activities and locations chosen for their universal access to fishing and toilet facilities,” Mr Dolbel said.
