SOME interesting cakes have been popping up all over Perth since Claire Paget whipped up her delicious business.
From her home she has been making cake pops – small, decorated cakes on a stick – and sending them from Kalamunda out to Landsdale and Coogee and even as far as Melbourne, Sydney and Queensland.
Cake Pop Creations does made to order delights as well as cakes for the Kalamunda Farmers Market where she has a store on the last market of each month as well as at the town’s Village Markets on the first Saturday of the month.
Ms Paget said she came across the idea on the internet and since then, her treats have become increasingly popular.
“People love cup cakes, but they also always like something different,” she said. Ms Paget said the designs and novelty was almost unlimited.
“As long as it sticks on a stick I can do it,” she said.
The baker said the cakes were hugely popular in the United States and the United Kingdom, but were still developing their following here in Perth.
Ms Paget said she averaged about seven orders a week on top of baking for the markets, with orders ranging for 12 up to 50 or 100 cakes.
