THE Joondalup Business Association has called on Joondalup council to help resolve a four-year-old list of complaints about the business park in Joondalup’s west.
President Russell Crook said there was a list of upgrade requests from 2004, and most remained unresolved.
“The JBA conducted a forum in the business park in November 2004 with input from business owners and interested parties who resolved to put traffic management, landscaping, signage, security and rezoning at the top of a wish list to be presented to the City of Joondalup,” Mr Crook said.
“To date, the only tangible improvements have been the lengthening of the slip lane in Cord Street and the construction of an information bay.
“We need to ensure that traffic can move efficiently through the park by the installation of extra left in, left out slip lanes onto Joondalup Drive and more roundabouts.”
Joondalup Mayor Troy Pickard said the intersection at Pontiac Way and Winton Road had been allocated black spot funding, but the city was unable to find a contractor to do the job with the available money.
He said the city had also applied for funding to improve the intersection of Joondalup Drive and Aston Street.
The city was also was studying traffic flow throughout the city.
“While projections can be undertaken, until the freeway extension opens at the end of 2008, the full impact of traffic distribution into the city and commercial area is unknown,” Mr Pickard said.
