DUBBED a boutique rather than a salon, glamorous Hollywood-styled Nails of Beauty & Elegance in Peppermint Grove is setting new trends in beauty.

From the staff’s quirky black, white and grey uniforms to the handy iPads available for clients as they indulge in treatments, plenty of little touches promise a unique experience.

Owner Lillian Clinton, who hails from Kenya, and nail technician and manager Andrew Dixon had a clear vision when launching the business – key factors were originality, frivolity and sophistication.

“We’ve received a lot of compliments from clients since opening: some say they have been to New York and Sydney and have never seen a place like this,” Mr Dixon said.

“Most salons in this area offer similar services and we didn’t fall into that trap.”

Adding to the exclusivity of the boutique – boasting nail technicians, makeup artists and beauty therapists – is US skincare brand Keyano Aromatics, unavailable anywhere else in the Southern Hemisphere.

“This line fascinated me because I’m a big-time chocoholic,” Mr Dixon revealed.

“It offers a whole body system with 11 flavours, including chocolate, lavender, cranberry, green tea and mango.

“You can have a pedicure, manicure, facial, body-wrap, body exfoliation and massage, all in your chosen flavour.”

Ms Clinton and her husband came to Perth in 2001, setting up home in Mosman Park.
