WHAT’S new pussycat? Sadly, not much, it would seem. The Dark Ages are well documented with cat purges resulting in mega rodent plagues and associated pestilence and mortal diseases.

“If we don’t learn from history we are doomed to repeat it,” cries a lonely voice in the wilderness. Speaking of, my little “look at the bigger picture” poet is opening a tin of fish.

Here kitty, kitty…

‘Pon many a strange question,

Answers are hung.

To quote you a classic,

“Cat got your tongue?”

‘Tis true, I gave,

My tongue to my cat.

Far be it better,

Than chewed by a rat.

Why would one make,

This “unusual” choice?

Really quite simple,

To give poor puss a voice.

When choosing bedfellows

Another question begets.

Even more simple,

Cats or rats?
