Recently I found a live webcam of City Beach.
It shows people hanging by the beach and although there is no movement to the camera angle, I have been quite familiar with the area through the pictures I have seen from the place.
Being 6.5 thousand miles away, I still find it very pleasant on the beach; especially after long hours of work in the office, it is fun to see Australians enjoy the very relaxed nature of the lovely beach.
No shops and no beach hobbies, it is just the beach that cheers them up. I see them and I think of the importance of enjoying the outdoors. By the time I leave the office, it is night time there in Perth. But yet, I see the glow of water and the calmness that dominates the surroundings.
Sometimes I even put a step forward; especially when there’s no one near the ocean. I get virtually close to the water. But here, there’s no threshold between reality and imagination; because relaxation is a state of mind that may occur regardless of reality.
The idea of walking out there with no sound around except the waves is relaxing. I suppose Perth is a gifted city. There are too many beaches world-wide. But only few of them, I am sure, have the opportunity to be decorated by meaningful emptiness.
There on the beach, people can be themselves, away from all the things that characterize them in their daily life.
There, standing on the beach, I long for a great wave to come and get me virtually soaked…
