The Minister for Veterans Affairs Has announced that the 1st Wednesday of September each year will be marked as The Battle for Australia Day.This date has been chosen by the Veteran community as it marks the first defeat of the Japanese Forces on Land in the battle of Milne Bay. it is not a public holiday
