Cult Movie Heroines Part 4 - Barbara Crampton

This is the fourth profile on a ‘Cult Movie Hero’ and up and until now, I have clean forgotten the contributions the fairer sex has made to the medium.
So here’s one for the girls – more to follow soon!

Daytime TV stalwart and cult film veteran, Barbara Crampton is an unsung cult movie heroine, thanks to a string of appearances in B-movie gems such as Re-Animator, From Beyond, Body Double, Chopping Mall, Puppet Master and Castle Freak to name a few.
With stunning looks and a habit of choosing decidedly offbeat acting roles, Barbara’s work in film thus far has been playful and adventurous, reflecting a performer who doesn’t take herself too seriously.

Reasons for Barbara Crampton’s Awesomeness

She was raised in Vermont and spent her childhood summers travelling the country with a carnival - her father was a carnie.

Co-starred in Space Truckers alongside Dennis Hopper.

In December 1986 she appeared in Playboy.

Worked with Rodney Dangerfield and Dom DeLuise in the crappy comedy The Godson.

Her ‘costume changes’ in From Beyond. Watch and you’ll see what I mean.

Soon to star in a follow-up to Re-Animator, the obviously titled House of Re-Animator.

Memorable Quotes

From Beyond Dr. Katherine McMichaels: "Don't you understand? This is the greatest discovery since van Leeuwenhoek first looked through a microscope and saw an amoeba!"

Chopping Mall Suzie Lynn: "Hey - would I set you up with a slime dog or something? No way, babe."
