EMERGENCY SERVICES VOLUNTEERS RECRUITING NOW ! State Emergency Service Volunteers play a vital role in helping the community. Volunteers assist with storm damage and temporary building repairs, search and rescue, flood and cyclone response for more information visit –www.fesa.wa.gov.au WE'RE LOOKING FOR OPERATIONS SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS !! Operations Volunteers also play a vital role in supporting SES Units in the Metropolitan Area. Located in a purpose built facility Operations and Coordination Centre, volunteers work alongside career SES staff to help coordinate the Metropolitan response to emergencies. Not everyone wants to be climbing on roofs or walking through the bush, so the Operations Section provides various roles according to the member's abilities, interests and what they are comfortable with. The role of an operations volunteer is diverse and includes activities such as - - Call taking and resource coordination - tasking - administrative support and computer work - mapping and plotting Our training is nationally recognised and topics include - - map reading and navigation - operating computer systems - operations centre management - leadership and incident coordination - search techniques Your commitment - - Prepared to work as part of a team - attend at least 1 Wednesday night training per month - be available to attend callouts within reason - meet FESA's joining requirements The Section can be called out at any time of the day or night to work in the Operations Centre or Incident Control Vechicle supporting operational activity in land search, storm damage, cyclone and flood.
