ELLENBROOK artist Liz Arnold says she is looking forward to having two of her large-scale textiles on show at the Perth Craft and Quilt Fair later this month.

Ms Arnold said the two pieces were made specifically for the fair’s theme of Nature. They derived predominantly from white cotton and were left in a white, natural colour to retain a ghostly appearance.

The two pieces, titled Ghost of Nature Past – Blossom and Ghost of Nature Past – Coral, were created from the idea of how humankind would respond if all the damage inflicted on the environment came back as a ghost to teach a lesson.

“There would be a multitude of ghosts,” she said.

“All of them would be seeking to enlighten us about different flora and fauna that no longer exist.”

The Perth Craft and Quilt Fair is running at the Perth Convention Centre from May 19 to 23.
