A YOUNG Gooseberry Hill writer’s work features in an anthology of short stories.

Megan Lee’s story Kristina was Seeing was included in 8 Kids Stories, which was launched last month at the Perth Writers Festival.

In Megan’s story, a severe bout of writer’s block cripples Kristina’s productivity, putting her job and home at risk.

Eventually, desperation leads her to find an unlikely source of inspiration.

This is not the first time Megan has been published.

The Perth College student (13) was first published in Born Storytellers Perth Montessori School Volume 1 in 2007 and in Volume 2 in 2008.

All the authors included in 8 Kids Stories are aged between 11 and 16 years and involved in a program designed to develop young writers, Learn to Write like a Born Storyteller.

The program has been running since 2005 and was created by the book’s editor, Kevin Price.

Students are involved in the process of creating a story and seeing it through to publication.
