Treat mum to a family favourite

WANT to treat mum to a nice lunch for Mother’s Day? Then a visit to Hog's Breath Cafe in Mindarie might just be in order.

The friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and cuisine make it a favourite for all occasions, including birthdays, family dinners or a night out with friends.

For starters, why not try the prawn twisters?

Five tiger prawns blended with fine herbs and wrapped in spring roll pastry, fried to golden brown, and served with cucumber and yogurt dip.

Or for something a bit heartier, have a go at the serious steak burger – double steak, double cheese, lettuce, onion rings, beetroot, tomato, grilled onions and hot Byron Bay chilli sauce.

Or the new hog wheel, serving char-grilled pork belly rolled with parsley and rosemary with Cajun rice, hog tail fries and house salad with a sweet plum and ginger glaze.

If you are after an old favourite, the mixed grill tower for two is the one to try.

Two char-grilled sirloin steaks, two small racks of baby-back ribs basted in hickory smoked sauce, four barbecue lamb cutlets, two grilled bacon rashes with hog tail fries and a house salad.

Or for the ultimate Hog’s Breath dish, go for the house specialty – slow-cooked prime rib.

Seafood lovers also have their bases covered, as have the vegans.

Kids eat free Monday to Friday from 5pm onwards when an adult orders a meal valued at more than $22.95.

Bookings are a must for this popular special which is booked out most weeks from Wednesday to Friday
