SATAY Fiesta is by far the best kept dining secret in the City of Melville.
The understated eatery is on Kishorn Road, Mt Pleasant, but it is not the location that makes this place a winner.
Owner Teddy Lim, along with his wife Molly, maintains a constant commitment to high quality cuisine to place this restaurant a cut above other South East Asian-style restaurants.
As the name would suggest, the satay sticks are a standout and a must-try for any restaurant visitors.
Customers can choose either the beef or chicken sticks and, unlike most supermarket variety satay sticks, there is not a piece of dry meat in sight.
Molly, who is the chef behind the operation, ensures every satay stick contains the most succulent pieces of meat (roasted, not fried), while the oil used for the sauce is the freshest, high quality canola oil.
When it comes to mains, it’s difficult to go past a dish that is fast gaining popularity – the seafood laksa.
Large pieces of fish, juicy prawns and tasty squid abounds in this delightfully creamy laksa with just enough bite to keep you coming back.
If you’re in the mood for something different again, the beef rendang is a treat.
Your standard beef rendang might contain small, dry pieces of meat with a moisture-less paste coating the dish – but this is not your standard rendang.
Large pieces of extremely tender beef soak up the rich rendang gravy and add new meaning to this traditional dish.
One thing is for certain– the more people find out about this place, the busier it will be.
