Delicious tastes of Indian on offer at Golden Cuisine

WALKING into Golden Cuisine Indian Restaurant is almost like entering the set of a Bollywood film.

Though there are less sequins and singing, Golden Cuisine’s colourful interior is adorned with Indian artwork, dramatic curtains and features a screen of strings separating the dining room.

As my friend and I sat down at the elegantly presented table, pappadums appeared nearly instantaneously in front of us.

We ordered a glass of white wine and a mango lassi, from the substantial drinks menu and settled down to our more difficult task of choosing from the extensive food menu.

Eventually we decided on the chef’s special goat curry, chicken korma and palak paneer.

Many people came in to collect takeaway meals, which we thought was a good sign and made us eagerly await our own dinner.

When it arrived, we were not disappointed, with each curry proving different but delicious.

The goat curry was a standout, with the tender meat falling off the bone and so full of flavour.

Having eaten a variety of chicken kormas in my time, this one provided a refreshing change from the usual.

The heady mix of spices, featuring cardamom, enhanced the cashew nut flavour and it had some mild heat.

In fact, all of the dishes had their own distinct mix of spices and a slight kick, though this is coming from someone with only a mild chilli tolerance.

We tried as hard as we could to finish the dishes, however it proved too much for two women and we bowed out full but content.
