Slow cooked pork belly is a big hit on the new dinner menu. Slow cooked pork belly is a big hit on the new dinner menu.

BURNS Beach Cafe may look the same but it has had a complete makeover in the past five months, from the chef to the food and even the coffee.

Offering modern Australian cuisine in a casual atmosphere, Burns Beach Cafe is a seaside venue with breathtaking views of the ocean and tables available in open and covered outdoor areas or indoors.

For those enjoying a morning along the coast, this is the perfect place to stop and have breakfast or morning tea while enjoying the sounds of the waves and the smell of salt in the air.

A lunchtime favourite is the tasting plate with a variety of servings, including pork spring rolls, fetta cheese, salt and pepper calamari, coriander, lime and chilli prawns, olives and turkish bread.

For the first time in five years, the cafe has opened in the evening for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays.

Already proving to be a big hit ,is the pork belly.

It’s slow cooked for five hours and served with roasted vegetables, roasted fennel and red wine jus.

Manager Dion Blake said they were looking to eventually be open for dinner five nights a week.

“Changes to the decor are part of the two to three-year plan,” he said.

Burns Beach Cafe prides itself on using mostly WA produce and Fix organic coffee.

It is open Mondays to Thursdays 8.30am to 5pm, Fridays 8.30am to late, Saturdays 8am to late and Sundays 8am to 6pm.

Burns Beach Cafe offers a great casual BYO dining experience.

Corkage is $3 ahead.

Had dinner at this Cafe last Saturday and enjoyed the casual atmosphere along with the well prepared and presented food. The entree tasting plate for two was a delight as was the Pasta I had for mains.
Great place to watch the sunset and enjoy good food and your own good wine. We don't get out that way often but this was worth the trip. Hope it succeeds with the extended opening hours.
