WHILE half of The Presets duo might have a more subdued idea of what the “ultimate Sunday session” is, for many people it is watching these two guys producing their music on stages around the world.
“The ultimate Sunday session is an easy one for me,” Kim Moyes said.
“It’s wake up late, have a late lunch and a couple of bottles of wine and maybe a DVD.
“I guess I’m showing you just how boring I can be.”
But come Sunday, December 15, Moyes and Julian Hamilton will be putting together the ultimate Sunday session when they launch Rotto Live.
The summer concert series will kick off at Hotel Rottnest from 3pm with the multi award-winning Australian electronic music duo taking the stage at 4.30pm in what Moyes said would be a “typical Presets gig”.
“We’ve done lots of remixes of our old songs and put them together in ways that are pretty seamless and interesting,” he said.
“It’s just usually high energy and lots of lights and a bit of video and generally us just trying to encourage everyone to lose their minds.”
Moyes said it was flattering to be asked to launch the inaugural concert series.
“I thought what a fun idea,” he said.
“I’ve been to Perth so many times but I’ve never had a chance to go to Rottnest Island – never seen a quokka – so I’m looking forward to the experience for sure.”
Zaccaria Concerts and Touring managing director Roy Adams said about 2500 could attend the event.
“Ticket sales have been great off the bat, which shows us that this is something that Perth people are in search of,” he said.
Discounted same-day return ferry tickets can be bought with tickets from Ticketmaster and travel times have been extended.
The next in the concert series will be held on Sunday, March 23 headlined by Aussie rockers Icehouse.
